“It’s going to be a great show,” said Thea White, a senior fifth year in the Gaels rugby program, who was coached by Dan Valley.

“We are very motivated after losing the 2019 gold medal match against Laval,” continued the star striker from Oakville.

“Losing last Saturday’s OUA championship game to Guelph really hurt, but the girls are looking forward to releasing themselves on the pitch. We start against British Columbia on Wednesday and continue from there.

“We have a very strong team, but we didn’t exhaust our potential in the OUA final. That won’t happen again. “

One less goal, another is left for the Queen’s rugby team

Playing at home is a definite advantage for Queen’s. Third year winger Carmen Izyk says it’s like having an extra striker on the field.

“The support we get from the local audience has been overwhelming,” says Izyk, who is from Blackie, Alta.

“We can hear and feel their support and their cheers. That is really a big advantage. “

Thea White agrees.

“It really gives us the extra kick we need,” says White.
