Harriet Dart is number 125 in the world
The British Harriet Dart was eliminated from the Canadian Open in the second round after a 6: 1, 3-6, 6: 3 defeat against defending champion Bianca Andreescu.
The 25-year-old struggled to defend her serve against Canada’s world number eight and has been broken five times.
She still got the match into the third set – but Andreescu’s 35 winners in total helped secure her place in the final 16.
In the men’s category, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the number three seeded, defeated the French Ugo Humbert 6: 3, 6: 7, 6: 1.
Tsitsipas bounced back from losing the second set in an epic 22-minute tie-break to claim a second-round win and get revenge on Humbert for knocking him out of the men’s Olympic singles in July.
