GMA News and Public Affairs Continues to lead the way in producing reliable and timely news content not only on the air but online as well, becoming the largest news creator on TikTok in the Philippines.
By September 15, TikTok accounts had reached a total of almost 410 million views of the video sharing app with 31.5 million accumulated likes.
“GMA Network remains committed to bringing Serbisyong Totoo to Filipino viewers regardless of the format. Reaching younger viewers through apps like Tiktok is a priority in keeping our country’s future well informed, ”said GMA senior vice president of news and public affairs Marissa L. Flores.
At the top of the list of these top TikTok news writers is the digital powerhouse GMA Public Affairs with 1.7 million followers. His account has 15.8 million likes and 195 million views in total.
Likewise, GMA news already has 304,500 followers. With 2.1 million likes and 42.3 million views, it was also one of the fastest growing news creators on TikTok Philippines.
The flagship newscast from GMA Network 24 hours extends its Serbisyong Totoo to TikTok as well. The award-winning program now has 261,200 followers with 1.5 million likes and 26.8 million views.
Just recently, 24 Oras also launched its # 24OrasChallenge in the app, inviting netizens to report the news with their favorite Kapuso-Anchors by reading from a teleprompter. The said challenge already has 12 million views at the time of this writing; with 24 Oras anchor Vicky Morales and Chika Minute host Iya Villania play the challenge. GMA News presenters and reporters, including Atom Araullo, Ivan Mayrina and Raffy Tima, also join in the fun, with new challenges being posted by reporters every day.
Also leading the way in content creation is the award-winning news magazine program and the Sunday viewing habits of Filipinos Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho. His account already has 811,463 followers with 47.5 million or 4.6 million views and likes.
The longest running morning show in the country Unang Hirit is also a hit on the platform with 270,100 followers, 2.1 million likes and 22.9 million views.
From the production of convincing stories on-air to a groundbreaking documentary program I-witness Forays through TikTok with 178,240 followers and 711,200 likes. His videos have cumulative views of 12 million.
Meanwhile award-winning wildlife and environmental program Born to be Wild continues to be the authority on wildlife protection in the video sharing app, with followers and likes of 165,100 and 671,600 respectively. His account has 12.2 million views.
Weekly magazine show Pinoy MD also starts discussions on important health topics on TikTok. It currently has 191,600 followers; 929,100 likes; and 7.6 million views.
Popular infotainment program AHA! continues to win the hearts of internet users with 172,600 followers, 920,300 likes and 11.1 million views of the app. Earlier this year, the show celebrated its 11th anniversary by partnering with TikTok PH through #AHAmazingLearning, which featured the entertaining and educational videos from AHA! contained.
Groundbreaking newscast for mobile journalism Stand for truth is also a pioneer at TikTok with 117,900 followers. His handle has 534,400 likes with 10.1 million views.
Increasing the reach is also GMA sport with 222,000 followers. It has already collected 1.7 million likes and 22 million views.
