Will the Bitcoin ETF decision be delayed? Important expert comments on rumors

Amid growing speculation about the future of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently issued additional comments on applicants' pending S-1 filings.

This move has sparked debates about whether it means a delay in the approval of these highly anticipated financial products.

A closer look

James Seyffart, a notable voice in the ETF sector, responded to the ongoing rumors and offered a different perspective.

He acknowledged the SEC's comments on the S-1 documents, particularly the fees, which had caused much discussion earlier in the day.

Seyffart sees no indication of a delay in these developments. Instead, he points to the SEC's quick response. Submitting comments on the same day as receiving documents is almost unprecedented for the regulator. This suggests that one is more concerned with moving forward rather than delaying.

Expert Scott Johnsson supported Seyffart's view, noting that the SEC's quick response was exceptional. He recalled that previous ETFs, such as those on 2022 futures, did not require completed S-1s for 19b-4 approval.

Johnsson emphasized that the current scenario likely reflects the SEC's intention to expedite the approval and launch processes.

The expected approval from BlackRock

As reported by U.Today, financial giant BlackRock is expecting SEC approval for its spot Bitcoin ETF as early as next Wednesday.

This report has sparked optimism in the investment community. BlackRock, along with other well-known companies such as Grayscale Investments, Valkyrie and ARK 21Shares, recently filed updated 19b-4 filings for their planned spot Bitcoin ETFs.

However, Matrixport has predicted that the approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF could be delayed.
