Whales move over $618,000,000 in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Chainlink – here's the direction the cryptocurrency is heading
Deep-pocketed crypto investors are abruptly moving hundreds of millions of dollars worth of digital assets in and out of unknown wallets.
New data from whale-watching platform Whale Alert shows that over $350 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC), the largest crypto asset by market capitalization, was transferred in two separate transactions.
In the first transaction, a crypto whale transferred 3,599 BTC ($252,067,077) from one unknown wallet to another, while in the second transaction, 1,500 BTC ($105,528,550) moved from one unknown wallet to another.
Bitcoin is trading for $69,671 at the time of writing, down 1.9% in the last 24 hours but up 10.7% from the seven-day low of $62,932 set on March 22 . March.
According to Whale Alert, crypto whales also moved over $100 million worth of XRP, the digital asset linked to payments platform Ripple, and less than $100 million each of Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest crypto asset by market cap, and Chainlink (LINK), a provider of decentralized oracle services for smart contracts.
Other transactions on Whale Alert's radar include:
- 210,020,140 XRP worth $128,921,343 were transferred from one unknown wallet to another.
- 15,000 ETH worth $53,235,693 was transferred from crypto exchange Bitfinex to an unknown wallet.
- 4,220,958 LINK $80,137,130 transferred from one unknown wallet to another.
Ethereum is trading at $3,510 at the time of writing, down 1.5% in the last 24 hours, while XRP and LINK are trading at $0.630 and $19.09, respectively.
