Cointelegraph’s Crypto Trading Secrets podcast has released its 10th episode, which includes an interview with trader Michaël van de Poppe, who addresses an audience of more than 650,000 viewers on Twitter under the alias @CryptoMichNL. During the recording of the June 14 interview, presenter Benjamin Pirus discussed several topics with van de Poppe, such as his views on what could affect the price of Bitcoin (BTC) later in 2023. His answer refers in part to United States regulations.
“I think if there is clarity about the framework that is being put in place in the US and whether or not cryptos are going to be securities or commodities, then that will boost markets,” van de Poppe said, adding:
“Because when you have that framework, it opens up to more institutional investors. I don’t think the US will be the big one. I think the other parts of the world are already stepping in.”
Mentioning the crypto-related regulatory environments of other regions, Van de Poppe highlighted the European Union’s regulatory framework for markets in crypto assets (MiCA), which was approved at the end of May. “I think the US is behind, but the more clarity we get on that, it will be beneficial for the markets and bring more liquidity to the markets,” he explained.
The trader also pointed out the macroeconomic conditions that could potentially affect Bitcoin significantly, such as the situation surrounding interest rates and unemployment in the United States and other countries. “I think all of these factors are going to move all markets, including bitcoin, and that’s what we have to figure out in the rest of the year, whether or not there’s going to be a recession and whether or not bitcoin is going to be the big winner or the big loser,” said van de Poppe.
Van de Poppe also spoke about several other topics, including his early interest in the stock market as a child.
