The DeFi report suggests that this BTC fork is becoming increasingly popular among ENS, FTM and SOL holders
Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is used as a key metric to measure the health of the crypto market. However, a recent DeFi report suggests that a BTC fork called Bitcoin Spark (BTCS) is becoming increasingly popular among ENS, FTM, and SOL holders.
Bitcoin Spark (BTCS)
Bitcoin Spark (BTCS) aims to rewrite the history of Bitcoin (BTC). This Bitcoin fork not only overcomes the limitations of its predecessor, but also introduces novel technologies that make it a pioneer of the next generation of cryptocurrencies. However, it retains the positive characteristics of Bitcoin, including the limited supply of 21 million.
The Bitcoin Spark network offers faster and cheaper transactions than Bitcoin due to its shorter block time, expanded transaction capabilities per block, and a significantly larger number of nodes.
Bitcoin (BTC) has no use other than transferring or storing wealth. Bitcoin Spark goes above and beyond by seamlessly integrating a smart contract layer into its network. The smart contract layer will have separate execution systems but unique network finality and enable different programming languages. This innovative multi-layered architecture establishes Bitcoin Spark as a robust platform for various smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps) relevant to many potential use cases.
Bitcoin Spark also introduces a new mining concept. The network uses a proprietary consensus mechanism called Proof-of-Process (PoP), which rewards miners for confirming blocks and using the computing power of their mining devices. The PoP is used with an algorithm that exponentially reduces rewards per additional performance, ensuring a fairer distribution of rewards. The non-linear reward functionality, coupled with the network’s massive nodes, allows even low-power devices to mine BTCS profitably. The Bitcoin Spark team will provide an application compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS and Android devices that will serve as the network’s native wallet and mining software.
To mine, users need to install the application and give it access to the device’s processing unit. The app then creates a virtual environment that is isolated from the device’s operating system capabilities to ensure security. Additionally, device resources used are regularly adjusted to account for overheating, battery, and concurrent usage requirements, although miners have the option to manually select device resources used for mining.
The miners’ computing power is rented as remote computing power to Bitcoin Spark’s customers, who pay for the service via BTCS. The revenue generated is then transferred to the mining pool and supplements the BTCS minting rewards.
Additionally, Bitcoin Spark’s application and website have unobtrusive slots for community-driven advertising. Advertisers also pay with BTCS, expanding the practicality of Bitcoin Spark.
The Bitcoin Spark Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is currently in Phase 5, with the BTCS price at $2.50 and investors receiving a standard 9% bonus.
Fantom (FTM) crypto
Fantom (FTM) is a cryptocurrency known for its fast and inexpensive transactions. It operates on the Fantom Opera blockchain and uses a Directed Asymmetric Graph (DAG) consensus mechanism. Fantom aims to provide scalable and efficient decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts while providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional blockchain networks.
What is Ethereum Name Service (ENS)?
Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a decentralized naming system based on the Ethereum blockchain. It allows users to replace long and complex wallet addresses with easy-to-remember, human-readable domain names, simplifying cryptocurrency exchanges and interacting with smart contracts. ENS has attracted attention due to its ability to improve user experience.
Is Solana (SOL) a good investment?
Solana (SOL) has gained popularity among DeFi enthusiasts due to its fast transaction speeds and low fees. The growing ecosystem and developer support have also added to its appeal. However, the listing of SOL as a security in the SEC proceedings against Binance and Coinbase has so far had a negative impact on Solana, which could be amplified in the event of an unfavorable ruling.
Diploma
The increasing popularity of Bitcoin Spark among ENS, FTM and SOL holders suggests that there is great potential for growth and adoption for BTCS.
