The Bitcoin white paper can still be secretly stored on your computer

The Bitcoin white paper was found as a hidden file on Mac computers in 2020 and today rumors were fueled again as it was confirmed that the white paper still exists on the current Mac OS, sparking speculation that Steve Jobs is Satoshi Nakamoto.

Several people have posted to confirm this finding, including the Documenting Bitcoin Twitter account – which shared a video demonstrating the file path to access the whitepaper.

Documenting Bitcoin added that the file is available on any Mac running Catalina or later operating systems.

Launched in October 2019, Catalina brings additional new features including updated security and iPad as a second screen feature.

Is Steve Jobs the Creator of Bitcoin?

The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains a mystery to this day.

The issue is all the more puzzling considering the reported fortunes of between 750,000 and 1.1 million Bitcoin that Nakamoto controls remain untouched.

Over the years, the Bitcoin community has suggested several names as likely candidates, including Hal Finney, who was extensively involved in its development before his death. And Nick Szabo, who published a paper on “Bit Gold” in 1998 – more than a decade before Bitcoin – which described a decentralized, functionally reliable virtual currency.

Given Jobs’ hand in bringing PCs to the mass market, the late Apple co-founder has also been linked – albeit less likely – to be a BTC creator, as he is considered more of a visionary and business tycoon than a programmer and cryptographer.

Speculators say that Nakamoto may be a group of individuals, one or all of whom have ties to Japan in some way, e.g. B. live there someday.

What happened to Satoshi?

Nakamoto’s last public contact was on December 12, 2010 as a post on the bitcointalk.org forums.

The message states that work is being done to counteract denial-of-service attacks. There was no indication of withdrawing from the project. To date, no further communication has been received from this account.

“There’s more work to be done on DoS, but I’m doing a quick build of what I have so far, should the need arise, before venturing into more complex ideas. The build for this is version 0.3.19.”

In November 2021 (at the top of the market), Apple’s current CEO Tim Cook expressed support for holding Bitcoin or Ethereum as part of a diversified portfolio. While acknowledging a personal interest in cryptocurrency, Cook denied any plans for a collaboration or partnership between Apple and the crypto industry.

Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer on October 5, 2011.
