On July 21, Tether Operations Limited (“Tether”) announced that the stablecoin Tether (USDT) is officially live on Tezos and Bitfinex. In more detail, the energy-efficient and self-modifying Tezos blockchain now hosts one of the most popular stablecoins, Tether (USDT). Similarly, Tether (USDT) holders can now easily trade the stablecoin on popular exchange Bitfinex.
Regarding the news, Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s Chief Technology Officer, shared his take on the stablecoin that is now part of the Tezos blockchain.

The USDT integration on Tezos is a significant milestone for the original PoS blockchain network. Tezos has seen significant growth over the years, as well as increasing usage year over year. Blockchain was even listed among the largest developer ecosystems according to the annual Electrical Capital Developer Report for 2021.
With this new announcement, Tether (USDT) is now part of the ever-growing and rapidly expanding Tezos ecosystem. This ecosystem consists of platforms such as NFT marketplace Objkt.com, generative arts platform fx(hash), yield farming protocol Youves, and decentralized exchange/EVM bridge Plenty. In addition, major brands such as Manchester United, Team Vitality, McLaren Racing, The Gap and others are also involved in the Tezos brand.
Similarly, the announcement aligns with Tether’s (USDT) claims of being dedicated to pioneering collaboration and interoperability in the growing space of digital assets. With this decision, Tether remains on track in its efforts to be at the forefront of the biggest leap forward in the financial industry.
