Romanian prosecutors have filed a request to seize $565,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) from controversial internet personality Andrew Tate. In addition to the 21 BTC, prosecutors have also requested the seizure of 15 properties, 15 luxury vehicles and 14 watches.

According to authorities, Tate, his brother Tristan and two Romanian women have been charged with rape and human trafficking. Authorities said the charges stemmed from a six-month investigation.
The document mentioned that there were seven alleged victims recruited through false promises. The alleged victims were transferred to facilities in Ilfov County, Romania, where they were intimidated and subjected to constant checks and surveillance. The women were reportedly coerced by the defendants into participating in pornographic content, which was subsequently posted on social media. According to the statement, a suspect is accused of twice raping a woman in March 2022. Andrew Tate is known as a proponent of Bitcoin (BTC) and has praised the original cryptocurrency on numerous occasions.

The process will not begin immediately and is expected to take several years. Currently, a Romanian court needs 60 days to examine the case files before the matter can be heard.
The Tate brothers’ media team stated: “While this news is undoubtedly predictable, we are taking the opportunity it presents to prove her innocence and justify her reputation.”
The confiscated assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), will most likely remain with the authorities until the process is completed. In addition, other charges are being examined that could lead to a separate indictment. It was about trafficking in minors and money laundering. The Tate brothers were initially arrested at their home in Bucharest in December 2022. In March, they were placed under house arrest following a Romanian judge’s decision.
