Ripple's development arm, RippleX, recently disclosed a technical bug affecting the Automated Market Maker (AMM) pool on the XRP ledger. To bring more clarity to the matter, Ripple CTO David Schwartz published an X post claiming that the technical issue was not caused by the one-sided deposit feature.

Schwartz's post came in response to RippleX's official announcement revealing a “discrepancy” that resulted in the disruption of transactions and liquidity pools on the XRP ledger. RippleX quoted: “The discrepancy impacted how the DEX payment engine routes liquidity through AMM pools and order books in some complex payment path scenarios.”

On March 22, the Ripple team announced the successful integration of AMM on XRPL. Schwartz also joined the celebration and acknowledged the team’s two-year effort to “bring AMM live on XRPL.”

Specifically, AMM pools are the liquidity pools used in decentralized exchanges (DEXs). They focus on enabling trading without traditional order books.

In his recent X post, Schwartz went into more detail about AMM's one-sided deposit feature. According to his post

“One-sided deposits enable an optimized user experience, but may result in price impacts if the pool has less liquidity. It is best for users to check the price impact in their tools before submitting a transaction, and front-end apps should display this information to users.”

Additionally, RippleX warned its users to stop depositing new funds into the AMM pools. Additionally, the team urged users who hold LP tokens to redeem them. Additionally, the platform assured its community that the issue would be resolved soon as “the engineering team is working with community participants to resolve the issue.”
