Ripple Labs has announced that its Liquidity Hub has expanded to Australia and Brazil, providing local businesses a way to manage their crypto liquidity. Crypto-focused businesses in the region will now have access to a “streamlined” way to buy, sell and hold digital assets.
“Liquidity Hub was designed to solve a key internal issue in Ripple’s payment solution. As we continued to see the growth and scale of our solution, efficiently managing liquidity across all regions became increasingly complex,” wrote Brad Chase, head of liquidity products at Ripple, on Thursday blog entry. He adds that the company “later realized there was an opportunity to outsource this service to others who need a digital asset platform to access and manage crypto liquidity to meet their customers’ needs. “
The service is aimed at crypto-focused businesses such as NFT marketplaces, crypto ATMs, point-of-sale merchants or businesses looking to integrate crypto for faster and more efficient payments. The hub provides businesses with access to various liquidity pools and advanced trading features, including post-trade settlement through a single API. Liquidity Hub was already available in 35 US states, including California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona and Colorado. This made Brazil and Australia the first regions outside the US to be granted access to the service.
“Ripple has strong connections to these regions through our existing operations and has identified innovative companies looking to adopt cryptocurrencies to meet the payment and liquidity needs of their end customers,” the company said in an email to The block. “Liquidity Hub offers them a complete solution versus the patchwork strategies these companies use to unlock crypto liquidity today.”
Ripple also announced that since its launch, the company has added new features to the platform aimed at streamlining operations for customers such as NFT marketplaces, crypto ATMs and brokers. Features include backend updates to improve customer experience, additional trading interface functionality, and improved SLAs for processing crypto deposits. The company announced that it plans to introduce new features such as a sandbox and additional features to further improve the customer experience.
