Ripple Spotted Selling Millions of XRP Again, Why Bitcoin Spark is the Better Alternative – CryptoMode
Ripple has once again made headlines with its sizeable XRP sales. These recurring large-scale transactions have raised questions about Ripple’s strategy and the future of XRP. Let’s explore the reasons behind Ripple’s continued sale of XRP and why crypto enthusiasts see Bitcoin Spark (BTCS) as a more promising alternative.
What is XRP?
XRP is a cryptocurrency created by Ripple. It was designed as a bridge currency to streamline and speed up cross-border transactions, with an emphasis on efficiency and affordability. It runs on the XRP Ledger, a dedicated blockchain, and relies on the Ripple Transaction Protocol (RTXP) to ensure smooth and fast transaction processing. XRP has a limited supply of 100 billion tokens and, unlike other cryptocurrencies, was pre-mined by the Ripple team. Additionally, XRP’s network is somewhat centralized, with a more limited group of validators overseeing the transaction validation process.
Why does Ripple keep selling its shares?
On August 30, 2023, multiple XRP transactions were discovered by the popular crypto tracking service Whale Alert, totaling a staggering amount of almost half a billion XRP. The crypto tracker discovered three transfers of 424,018,481 XRP, 31,000,000 XRP and 27,600,000 XRP. Of those three, Ripple was second as it moved 31 million XRP to an anonymous wallet address that XRP-focused platform Bithomp reveals also belongs to Ripple. The largest transaction was made between two anonymous wallets, with some suggesting they could be transfers from the same crypto whale. Also, an unknown wallet owner transferred 27,600,000 XRP to the Bitstamp exchange, which Bithomp identified as Ripple Labs.
Ripple continues to sell its XRP holdings for several reasons. A key motive is to support its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) platforms. By selling XRP on the open market, Ripple can generate liquidity, which is essential for facilitating cross-border payments. Additionally, Ripple is using these sales to build robust XRP markets, ensuring the availability of XRP to financial institutions and market participants that rely on the cryptocurrency for their businesses. However, Ripple’s XRP sales have also met with criticism.
Bitcoin Spark
Bitcoin Spark is a new crypto project that aims to bring new applications to the blockchain while maintaining decentralization and improving security, speed, and scalability.
The Bitcoin Spark network uses its proprietary mechanism known as Proof-of-Process (PoP). The PoP rewards users for confirming blocks and providing processing power to the network. Bitcoin Spark combines the PoP with an algorithm that exponentially reduces the rewards per additional performance to ensure a fair distribution of rewards. Additionally, the network will have an enormous number of nodes, allowing it to accommodate more validators on its network.
The team behind Bitcoin Spark will provide an application that will allow users with Windows, Android, iOS, Linux and Mac OS devices to participate in network validation. Users must install and grant access to their device’s processing unit to begin validating transactions. The app creates a separate virtual environment that doesn’t affect any other part of the device and automatically adjusts the processing power used to account for overheating, battery and simultaneous usage needs. This makes Bitcoin Spark network validation open to virtually anyone with a smart device.
The miners’ computing power is securely leased as remote computing power to the network’s customers. Customers have to pay with BTCS, which is an additional revenue stream for network validators and a real benefit for BTCS.
BTCS has a maximum supply of 21 million, with 78.33% allocated to the network validators and 0.24% to the team, encouraging decentralization. 2.38% is allocated to liquidity pools and exchanges prior to network launch to ensure early liquidity. The remaining 19.05% will go into the ongoing Initial Coin Offering (ICO). This offers supporters of the project a chance to get BTCS before the network launches. It offers advantages such as discounted prices and the potential for unprecedented profits. The ICO is currently in phase 4, selling BTCS for $2.25 and offering a 10% bonus. Several crypto analysts consider the ICO to be a great option for those who missed out on early bitcoin.
Bitcoin Spark’s commitment to decentralization makes it a better choice for those looking for a reliable and censorship-resistant cryptocurrency.
