A leading digital asset manager says institutional investors have added to their short positions on Bitcoin (BTC).
In the latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Weekly report, CoinShares notes that short BTC investment products saw $15 million in inflows last week, while long investment products suffered net outflows.
“Digital asset products recorded inflows totaling $12 million last week, although $15 million of that was inflows into short (inverse price) products, with total net outflows for long products totaling 2.6 million dollars.”

CoinShares interprets the rise in short BTC products as a sign that investors expect further downside in the crypto markets, but are not necessarily looking to sell their long positions.
Long bitcoin investment vehicles suffered outflows of $2.6 last week, bringing year-to-date inflows to $14 million.
After three weeks of inflows, Ethereum (ETH) investment products suffered minor outflows last week.
Litecoin (LTC) also suffered minor outflows last week, with most altcoin products seeing minor inflows throughout the week.
Investment products Solana (SOL), XRP and Cardano (ADA) saw inflows of $0.5M, $0.3M and $0.1M, respectively, and multi-asset products were up 5, $5M over the rest.
“Multi-asset investment products, which have been steadfast from a cash flow perspective in this bear market, recorded inflows totaling $2 million, bringing year-to-date inflows to $219 million, well above any other asset. “
