Here's how Bitcoin can reach $1 million in a year

In a recent post on social media platform

Paine provides a detailed analysis and highlights key factors that could lead to this significant increase in value.

Analyst Predicts Possible Supply Shock in Bitcoin Market

Paine's analysis assumes that around 750,000 new Bitcoins will likely be mined over the next five years. Based on historical patterns, the analyst estimates that 20-30% of the existing Bitcoin supply will likely be put up for sale during the upcoming bull market.

However, Paine departs from conventional expectations and uses a more conservative estimate of 10-15% for several compelling reasons.

These include the recent emergence from a prolonged bear market, the rise of Bitcoin maximalists (“maxi-hodlers”), the declining importance of “crypto” as a generic asset class (with a lower propensity to convert funds into alternative cryptocurrencies or “alts”) . ) and the increasing recognition of Bitcoin as a treasury-class asset.

Taking these considerations into account, Paine expects an additional 2-6 million Bitcoins to enter the market, bringing the total supply in circulation to approximately 2.75-6.75 million.

The trigger for the forecast increase is the expected inflow of capital into the Bitcoin market. Paine estimates that $1 trillion to $5 trillion in capital will enter the market over the next five years, driven by the asset's increasing accessibility to institutional and retail investors.

Paine's analysis is consistent with the assumption that most gains in the Bitcoin market typically occur within the first year after a halving, which is characterized by speculative fervor. A more gradual distribution of profits is then expected.

Bitcoin rises above $45,000 and later falls

Bitcoin rose above $45,000 on Tuesday, hitting its highest level since April 2022, as optimism over the possible approval of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds fueled the market. The cryptocurrency hit a 21-month high of $45,922, marking a strong start to the new year.

Investors' attention has been focused on the possible approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Such approval is expected to open the market to a broader investor base and attract significant investments.

However, things changed throughout the day as BTC plunged by $3,000. This comes amid reports that the U.S. securities regulator may actually reject all spot ETF applications in January, as it has done countless times in the past.
