In a recent CNBC interview, Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein passionately expressed the potential impact of a spot Bitcoin ETF, highlighting its ability to unlock Bitcoin (BTC) for an estimated asset worth approximately $30 trillion. The CEO acknowledged ongoing discussions with the SEC and emphasized his commitment to addressing regulatory complexities.
“We see this as an enormous opportunity for investors. It’s about enabling access, and a spot Bitcoin ETF could be the key to unlocking huge reserves of assets under management,” said Sonnenshein.
Regarding the regulatory challenges, Grayscale's CEO said the company is actively in discussions with the SEC to address concerns and enable a smooth transition to a regulated spot Bitcoin ETF as Grayscale continues to be proactive in launching its ETF -to bring the offer to market.
Additionally, Sonnenshein acknowledged Grayscale’s role in pioneering cryptocurrency investing with products such as the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.
