Experts predict that spot Bitcoin ETFs will not be approved this week

Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett said approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF in early January was unlikely.

In an X post, Fox journalist Eleanor Terrett pointed out that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) still needs to consider changes to the S-1 filings for spot Bitcoin ETFs.

She said the SEC will likely notify issuers of a final Form S-1 filing date following this round of reviews, virtually within the next 24 to 48 hours, similar to the approval schedule for Ethereum (ETH) futures ETFs last October.

“The SEC staff has been off since Friday, so approval on Tuesday or Wednesday appears to be in short supply. But we will see! Regardless, the next two weeks will be exciting.”

Many analysts expect spot Bitcoin ETFs to be approved in early January. Companies such as Valkyrie, Fidelity Investments, ARK Invest, Grayscale, WisdomTree and Invesco are also awaiting SEC approval. Bitcoin ETF issuers have already reached important details in negotiations with the SEC. The regulator’s deadline for deciding on Bitcoin ETF applications is January.

As the application deadline approached, BTC's price responded with growth that broke $45,000, a 21-month high that was not reached in early April 2022.
