Ethereum price prediction report by Finder – TechEconomy.ng

Ethereum (ETH) is expected to crack $6,800 and set a new all-time high this year, according to Finder.com’s latest Ethereum price prediction report.

The finder panel of fintech and cryptocurrency specialists expects ETH to peak in 2022 averaging $6,872 – about $2,000 more than its previous ATH of around $4,900 – before falling to $5,783 by the end of the year .

Technologist and futurist at Thomson Reuters Joseph Raczynski gave one of the most optimistic predictions for ETH’s year-end value, expecting it to hit $8,000 with “the merger” playing a big part in its rise.

“The merger, an upgrade to Ethereum, should happen this summer. This could have an explosive effect on the token. This is what people have been waiting for for years. It should be far safer, 99% more energy efficient, and deflationary. If that isn’t the trifecta of potential as a leading blockchain, I don’t know what would be.”

He is not alone in his view, with 35% of panelists saying that post-merger ETH’s deflation mechanism will have the most positive impact on price.

Meanwhile, 29% say ETH’s low energy consumption will have the biggest impact on its price, and 16% say ETH’s higher transactions per second will have the biggest impact.

Asher Tan CoinJar CEO is also bullish on the ETH prediction, expecting the coin to peak at $8,500 this year before skyrocketing to $35,000 by 2030.

He is also among the 31% of panelists who believe ETH will experience a supply shock if newly minted Ether doesn’t circulate between the merger and the Shanghai Upgrade.

“The merger is one of the largest and most important events in crypto history — and one with the ability to deliver an almighty supply shock to the system,” Tan said.

However, global cryptocurrency editor at Finder Keegan Francis says Ethereum is in a very uncertain place and believes Ethereum will close at $5,000 in 2022 and be worth $10,000 by 2030.

“Until Ethereum updates its systems and delivers on its scaling promises, I have no long-term faith in the network. That being said, I still think people will buy the token out of hype/promise/potential. However, I don’t think ETH will be number 2 forever.”

Boston Trading Co CFO Jeremy Britton agrees and expects SOL, MATIC and others to eventually outperform ETH.

Carol Alexander, Professor of Finance at the University of Sussex, is optimistic about ETH’s short-term future but expects ETH to be worth virtually nothing by the end of the decade.

“ETH will become more important as De-Fi grows, but by the end of this decade it will follow the same path as all traditional native blockchain tokens as new Internet-of-Things technology evolves – think IOTA Tangle “, she said.

Overall, 61% say it’s time to buy ETH, 32% say it’s time to hold, and just 6% say it’s time to sell.
