Ethereum (ETH) Whale Transactions Surge 54%, Possible Impact

U.Today – (ETH) has made various headlines in recent weeks due to its subtle performance improvements. While the second largest cryptocurrency is experiencing relatively slight growth, it is seeing a massive increase in its whale transactions. According to data from crypto analytics platform IntoTheBlock (ITB), large Ethereum transactions increased by 54.35% to a total value of $2.81 billion.

Specifically, the number of large transactions increased from 2,120 on July 2nd to 3,230 at the time of writing.

While it remains undeniable that Ethereum is dominated by retail investors, the latest findings from ITB data show that there are a large number of large investors who consistently use Ethereum to transfer value on-chain.

The impact of these whale transactions is currently being felt in the Ethereum protocol’s recent slight bullish move. At the time of writing, the Ether coin is trading at a price of , up 0.11% in the last 24 hours. On a weekly basis, Ethereum has recorded growth of 4.10%.

Comprehensive Ethereum Milestones

Various positive fundamentals have joined forces to help Ethereum break the psychologically important $2,000 mark. As previously reported by U.Today, the protocol also saw a notable increase in its stake deposits since the Shanghai Upgrade went live earlier this year.

As a fully-fledged Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol, Ethereum is now attracting greater interest from users when it comes to yield farming and staking. Before the Shanghai upgrade, staked Ethereums are locked until a long-specified date. However, the changes allow staked assets to be bought back upon request, which has led to increased investor participation across the board.

The combination of increasing liquidity and large transactions has helped keep Ethereum afloat despite general market uncertainty.
