Shiba Inu wins the BitPay Brackets Championship
The Shiba Inu community has another reason to celebrate as their favorite meme cryptocurrency won BitPay Brackets, a tournament recently hosted by leading cryptocurrency payment processor Bitpay. The competition consisted of four rounds with a total of 16 coins including Binance Coin, Cardano, Solana, Polkadot and Dogecoin. In the first three rounds, Shiba Inu managed to outperform Terra, Solana, and Cardano, and then secured a win after facing off against Polygon in the grand finals.
Bitcoin’s mid-halving event takes place next week
According to an article by Santiment, the crypto market is poised for the next bitcoin mid-halving correction. While the halving usually results in a significant increase in the price of BTC, the mid-halving may not be as optimistic for the market. As can be seen from the chart shared by Santiment, each mid-halving event was marked with a local price peak, after which Bitcoin’s value decreased until the next halving. However, experts note that it remains unclear whether Bitcoin will follow the same pattern as before as it is still in the local uptrend that started in mid-March.

Ripple partner iRemit, which uses Ripple’s ODL to process remittances from Australia to the Philippines, has partnered with Velo Labs to target the $34 billion cross-border payments market in the Philippines. Last year, Novatti Group joined Ripple’s global payments network to tap into RippleNet’s ODL service. Through a partnership with iRemit, Ripple and Novatti’s efforts targeted the Australia-Philippines corridor.
