The total of payments made under the Real Sector Support Facility (RSSF) as of Thursday is N2.1 trillion, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The announcement was made at the 17th Abuja International Trade Fair by CBN spokeswoman Osita Nwanisobi.
According to him, a total of N93.39 billion has been disbursed to 62 projects under the 100 for 100 policy for production and productivity (PPP), after recently distributing N20.17 billion to 14 health, manufacturing and service projects.
Nwanisobi added that through its interventions in various sectors of the economy, the bank has continued to support the creation of an export-ready market, particularly those that would contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
‘For the record, under the Real Sector Facility, the bank has released the sum of N66.99 billion for 12 additional projects in manufacturing and agriculture. In the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector, the Bank supported entrepreneurship development with the sum of N39.26 million under the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Scheme (TIES), bringing the total disbursement under the intervention to 332, N43 million increased.
“Over the years, the Central Bank of Nigeria has instituted interventions aimed at increasing the wealth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria.
These include the SME Credit Guarantee Scheme (SMECGS); the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (MSMEDF); the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Program (YEDP); and the Agricultural Enterprises/Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Program (AGSMEIS),” he said.
He explained that the bank also supports the Entrepreneurship Development Centers (EDCs), the National Collateral Registry (NCR), the Creative Industry Financing Initiative (CIFI), the Targeted Credit Facility (TCF), the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) and the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Scheme (TIES), among others.
