Bitcoin's recent surge has significantly impacted the performance of companies involved in crypto mining and trading, with most posting double-digit gains within a month.
February is shaping up to be a banner month for Bitcoin as the leading cryptocurrency has gained over 45% for the month, marking the biggest monthly gain for BTC since December 2020. The uptrend has contributed to a 36% increase in index tracking of digital asset-related companies, a notable rebound after a decline of more than 20% the previous month.
The widespread enthusiasm for cryptocurrencies was evident on Wednesday when Coinbase, a leading US cryptocurrency exchange, experienced service disruptions due to increased activity. Despite this hiccup, Coinbase saw a value increase of over 56% in February alone, its most successful month since November, following a 26% decline the previous month.

In addition to Coinbase, other crypto-related companies such as Marathon Digital Holdings Inc., Riot Platforms Inc. and Bit Digital Inc. are also poised to end February on a positive note, erasing previous losses.
Riot Platforms share price development in February
After a challenging January, this group of companies has rebounded, thanks in part to the SEC's approval of Bitcoin-focused ETFs on January 11th. This revival follows a year of significant recovery for the industry in 2023.
However, it is important to note that while companies associated with Bitcoin often benefit from price increases, their stocks are also vulnerable to declines if the cryptocurrency's value falters.
