Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and the broader cryptocurrency space saw a significant rally in February, with the former reaching a high of over $60,000 again. After renewed interest in digital assets following the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) approval of spot Bitcoin ETF offerings in January, Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) recorded outflows of nearly $8 billion last month.
Yahoo Finance's Madison Mills is joined by Grayscale Global Head of ETFs Dave LaValle on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to discuss the spot Bitcoin ETF landscape and the crypto asset manager's premium fees for its offering.
“We came to market with $28 billion in assets and had 100% market share. So the expectation that we would maintain 100% market share was actually not what we had in mind, so the outflows we had.” “What we saw was expected. That’s what we expected,” LaValle explains. “Look, we charge a premium fee for a premium product, and that’s where we are now.”
