Recently, Mike Novogratz, a well-known figure in the crypto space, shared his bullish outlook for Bitcoin (BTC) in 2024 on social media platform X, predicting that the benchmark cryptocurrency will rise later this year.
This forecast came in response to a bearish post by Chris J. Terry, who predicted a bleak near-term future for Bitcoin due to potential selling pressure following Grayscale's decision to maintain a 1.5% fee on its exchange traded fund (ETF). .
Novogratz's optimistic outlook
Novogratz expressed his disagreement with Terry's pessimistic view. He believes investors could actually sell their holdings in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), but will likely reinvest in other ETFs, particularly BTCO.
The crypto mogul emphasized that these ETFs are easy to invest in for a broader demographic, including baby boomers.
He also noted the possibility of increasing Bitcoin exposure by four or five times. In his view, the current market discomfort will pass and lead to a higher valuation of Bitcoin in the next six months.
JPMorgan's cautious stance
In contrast to Novogratz's optimism, JPMorgan remains bearish due to expected selling pressure from Grayscale.
This sentiment is shared by several analysts in the financial sector, who see the recent approval of several spot Bitcoin ETFs as a harbinger of downward pressure on Bitcoin price.
Nevertheless, some analysts, such as Tuur Demeester, maintain a positive outlook. Demeester recently commented on Bitcoin's resilience in the face of negative news coverage, noting that the cryptocurrency has encountered predictable resistance and is now trading within a certain range.
