Bitcoin (BTC) hashrate is climbing to new heights, recently hitting a record 440.71 exahashes per second (EH/s), according to BTC.com data. The fact that it is now approaching half a terahash shows the growing strength and resilience of the cryptocurrency.

This impressive jump of 272 EH/s earlier in the year serves as a key indicator of the growing computing power that is fueling the Bitcoin network and securing the backbone of the blockchain.

Crypto influencer Quinten François expressed his amazement at the skyrocketing hashrate on Twitter and speculated that big players or even entire nations could be setting up mining operations behind the scenes.

Alongside the rising hashrate, Bitcoin’s mining difficulty conquered new heights, hitting a record high last month. This performance signals the network’s impressive ability to endure significant swings and emerge stronger.

The hash rate serves as a key metric for assessing the health of the Bitcoin network and indicates the total computing power used to mine and process transactions.

A higher hashrate indicates increased miner participation, resulting in a more secure network.

It is worth mentioning that the Bitcoin price often follows the rhythm of the hash rate in the long term. However, the ratio is not always perfectly in sync as market fluctuations and external factors can affect the price regardless of the hashrate.

Nonetheless, the rising hashrate signals that the network is attracting more investors and big players.
