Total crypto market cap fell 0.17 percent to $794.66 billion and trading volume rose 3.87 percent to $27.38 billion, data from Coinmarketcap.com showed as of 9 a.m.
Polygon (MATIC) was first in the list of trending coins. PancakeSwap (CAKE) took second place, followed by Terra Classic (LUNC) and Shiba Inu (SHIB). Bitcoin was sixth on the list.
The top gainers were OKB (OKB) followed by Aptos (APT) while the top losers were GMX (GMX) followed by Terra Classic (LUNC).

Bitcoin: BTC fell 0.25 percent to $16,559.50. BTC trading volume increased by 14.48 percent to $16,022,261,339.
BTC has been trading at a loss for the past 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, it has fluctuated between $16,408.48 and $16,612.35.
BTC has been trending in sixth place and its dominance is currently 40.12 percent, down 0.03 percent on the day
Binance: Binance (BNB) is trading in the green this morning. It rose 0.03 percent to $245.58 and traded in the range of $243.13 to $245.95.
BNB trading volume fell 0.55 percent to $330,486,186.
Ether: Ethereum (ETH) is down 0.21 percent to $1,195.65 in the past 24 hours to Friday morning.
Ethereum was mostly seen in the red. It traded between the lows of $1,187.46 and the highs of $1,200.14. However, it bounced into the green for a brief period around 2am on December 31, but later started trading again at losses.
Trading volume increased 4.43 percent to $4,057,317,746.
