Binance Labs is among the backers of the $7.6 million round for the Discord game Tatsumeeko

Tatsumeeko, a Discord-first fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has closed a $7.6 million seed funding round co-led by DeFiance Capital, Delphi Ventures and BITKRAFT Ventures . The funds will be used to continue development of the game, which will be released on the Ethereum (ETC) and Solana blockchains, according to a press release provided to CoinDesk.

Other participants in the round included Binance Labs, Animoca Brands, Dialectic, and GuildFi.

The game playable on Discord will be available on mobile and web. Players can fight monsters, explore the virtual world and build communities. Upcoming features include main and side quests, co-op raids, player-versus-environment (PvE) combat, and player-versus-player (PvP) combat with rewards in the native IGS token.

The game comes from the team that created Tatsu.GG, which specializes in Discord bots that encourage community gamification and engagement.

Early next month, Tatsumeeko will begin initial sales of Aethereal Parcels, non-fungible digital pieces of land that grant utility and special abilities to owners and others who interact with the elements. The launch follows the release of the Meekolony Pass series of NFTs on Solana in November, which brought in-game perks and rewards, allowing holders to customize their avatars at a higher level than other players.

In the long term, the game is to be expanded to other social platforms such as QQ, WeChat and Telegram, as well as to several communities on Ethereum and Solana.
