XEBS organizes the second edition of the sports innovation festival SPORT IT – The New Indian Express

BHUBANESWAR: The second edition of SPORT IT, the sports innovation festival organized by Xavier-Emlyon Business School (XEBS), ended on Saturday. The two-day virtual event was organized in cooperation with the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Department of Tourism. Start Odisha and FICCI.

Over 30 startups, investors and industry experts from different parts of the country took part in the program. The festival was organized on an exclusively curated platform by FICCI and this year’s theme was “Sport, Tourism and Technology”.

The opening session was attended by, among others, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Durga Prasad Mohapatra, the Joint Secretary of the Department of Sport and Youth, Ranjit Parida, and Vikrant Gupta, Editor-in-Chief (Sport) of Aaj Tak.

Sports and Youth Minister Tusharkanti Behera delivered a message welcoming the entrepreneurs and industry experts attending the event. He appreciated XEBS’ efforts to foster an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit within the sports community.

This was followed by “Startup Mashup”, a virtual exhibition for start-ups in the fields of sports, technology and tourism. During the event, students and entrepreneurs took part in the national innovation challenge organized in cooperation with Startup Odisha and AIC-Nalanda.

There was also a panel discussion on the subject of “Sport and tourism: Tasks and opportunities”. XEBS Chairman Ashley Fernandes and Dean Professor Arun Kumar Paul were present. The event was moderated by XEBS Senior Manager (Operations) Diksha Tiwari.
