The World Padel Tour (WPT) has announced a new broadcast partnership with British pay TV provider BT Sport.
The deal, effective immediately, will see coverage of Damm’s own padel circuit in both the UK and Ireland.
The deal comes after Premier Padel, the new challenger tour backed by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and the International Padel Federation (FIP), inked a UK rights deal with BT’s pay-TV rivals Sky back in March .
BT Sport aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of padel by adding WPT to a content offering that already includes live action from English football’s Premier League, elite European club football, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and MotoGP .
The agreement with BT sees WPT expand its worldwide broadcast distribution to more than 121 countries worldwide.
