Manchester City drew 1-1 with Liverpool in their Premier League lunchtime game at the Etihad.

Erling Haaland gave Manchester City a first-half lead before Trent Alexander-Arnold equalized for the away side in the 80th minute.

Alexis Mac Allister returned from suspension, one of two changes for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Reds are now just one point behind the league leaders after this afternoon’s game.

Five games begin at 3pm, with Newcastle’s meeting with Chelsea at St James’ Park the highlight of the fixture.

Burnley faces West Ham, Luton faces Crystal Palace, Brighton faces Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United faces Bournemouth.

The evening kick-off is an all-London affair between Brentford and Arsenal from 5:30 p.m.

Leinster are virtually back to full strength in the United Rugby Championship derby against Munster at the Aviva Stadium this evening.

The visitors will field South African Jean Kleyn in the second row – but Peter O’Mahony is out due to injury.

Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m.

The first Irish province in action on Saturday is Connacht – they face the Bulls in Pretoria from 3pm Irish time.

Ulster are in Scotland for a meeting with Glasgow from 7.35pm.

Boxing

Katie Taylor will look to avenge her loss to Chantelle Cameron tonight.

After suffering defeat earlier this year, Taylor will face the undisputed super lightweight champion again in Dublin.

The couple is expected on the stage of the 3 Arena around half past nine.

GAA

Reigning Ulster football champions Glen will be looking to keep their title defense on track this evening.

The Derry champions will face Donegal’s Naomh Conaill in the semi-final at Healy Park in Omagh, starting at 5.30pm.

In hurling, both Leinster semi-finals are up for grabs this afternoon.

Offaly’s Kilcormac Killoughey faces Kilkenny’s O’Loughlin Gaels in Tullamore in the first half.

In Portlaoise it’s Na Fianna from Dublin against Kildare kingpins Naas at 3 p.m.

Defending champion Mark Allen is one of the players in action on day one of the UK Championship in York.

The Antrim native is currently starting the first round against Ding Junhui, with the first to six frames just around the corner.
