W-Sport expands reach with free offer in France

W-Sport, the 24/7 women's sports channel, has launched in France under an agreement with broadband operator Free.

Confirmed:

  • Viewers can watch live football from the Women's Super League (WSL), the Frauen Bundesliga, the Serie A Femminile and the Swedish Damallsvenskan
  • Women's Volleyball Bundesliga, Super League Triathlon and Pac-12 action available on channel
  • W-Sport also broadcasts selected live events in hockey, netball, tennis, athletics and boxing

Context:

W-Sport launched in September 2021 and was founded by former Setanta executives Michael O'Rourke and Kelly Butler. The channel offers a mix of live and delayed coverage of events across various sports as well as magazine programs and documentaries and has already secured distribution deals in Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Indonesia in 2023. W-Sport is also available in more than 30 territories in sub-Saharan Africa.
