Torquay United 1-1 Gateshead – ` Sport

Torquay missed a chance to move out of bottom of the National League as his fellow contenders hit back Gateshead and earned a 1-1 draw at Plainmoor.

Aaron Jarvis put the Gulls on course for a much-needed win when he headed in a Kieron Evans cross after 70 minutes at Plainmoor, but the visitors equalized four minutes later.

Owen Bailey was credited with the equalizer when the ball was bundled into the Torquay net from a corner.

Torquay had been close twice in the first half as Mark Ellis and Brett McGavin forced a save from James Montgomery and Dillon De Silva’s goal was disallowed for offside after the break.
