ROCKFORD (WREX) – An opening ceremony for the Project SEARCH Class of 2023 was held today.
The SEARCH project is a year-long school-to-work transition program hosted by RAMP for students with disabilities.
In partnership with Rockford Public Schools and the Illinois Department of Human Services, students work through three internships of classroom instruction and hands-on practice over a one-year period.
This is the second year Embassy Suites has hosted the program at its hotel.
“It’s a big time for me, we love helping people, that’s our job,” said general manager Vincent Bucci. “Our purpose is to serve, and everyone here serves, so we are thrilled to have Project SEARCH with us and to work together as a team to help these students find jobs and serve in the community.”
