The consequences: A storm blows from the roof of the Kelowna sports club
Ponto Road in Kelowna is closed due to fallen trees and power lines in the area.
Several trees fell on power lines around 3 p.m. and caught fire when a violent storm swept through the city.
The houses on the street are supplied with electricity.
Elsewhere in town, trees smashed cars on the Enterprise Lane, fell on homes in Glenmore, and created mass garbage problems in the mission area.
Parts of the domed roof of the Central Sports Club on Ellis Street -peared to have been blown away in the storm, causing rain to fall into the building.
