WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Archbishop Carroll High School partnered with Competitive Edge EQ to host a town hall meeting on the importance of prioritizing student-athlete wellness.
The town hall was called; “Every game counts, every emotion counts.”
October is Emotional Intelligence Awareness Month, and the purpose of the town hall was to strengthen the emotional state of student-athletes.
WUSA9’s Simone De Alba moderated as a number of panelists discussed topics such as emotional and mental wellness, transitioning from the field to career and tools for playing at the next level.
Including panelists; Carolyn Moos, Lisa Leonard, Jerome Williams, Josh Morgan, Lou Holder, Roger Clark, Kenny Lucas, Chanell Gaines and Lisa Daniels.
Each panelist shared valuable advice from their own personal journeys. It was also an opportunity for students to interact with athletes who have strong ties to the DMV and have made a name for themselves at the national level.
Archbishop Carroll will be the first EQ school in the DMV.
