FARGO — Jamestown High School’s girls’ soccer season concluded on Friday.
The Blue Jays lost 2-0 to West Fargo Sheyenne in the consolation semifinals. The team lost 1-0 to Fargo Davies in the opening round of the 2023 Class A State Soccer tournament.
No statistics were provided to the Jamestown Sun.
Jamestown’s appearance at the state tournament was the team’s first since the 2021 season and Colton Altringer’s first as head coach.
The Blue Jays finished their regular season in a 4-3-2, earning them a fifth-place finish in the 2023 West Region Tournament. The Blue Jays defeated Dickinson 5-0 in the WDA play-in game and went on to defeat it in the state qualifier defeated fourth-seeded Legacy 2-1 in double overtime.
Senior Breanna Oettle and junior goaltender Olivia Sorlie received All-WDA honors. Oettle was the Jays’ top scorer with ten goals. Sorlie had 57 saves and four shutouts.
Overall, the Jays finished the year 6-5-2.
