BOULDER, Colorado – In this video from the International Extreme Sports Medicine Congress, Sherrie L. Ballantine-Talmadge, DO, discussed sport-specific return-to-play protocols for extreme athletes.

“What we’ve found over the years is that we needed to be sport-specific, both in diagnosis and treatment. These athletes developed early brain mapping so they could twist, twist and turn differently than a soccer player or a soccer player,” she said. “Today’s goal was to get people to think and take the next step and understand there [are] Differences in the way you [rehabilitate] Athletes after concussion and that with a sport-specific ROI, you will get the best outcome.”
