The Ehrlo Sport Venture was selected for Tim Hortons Holiday Smile campaign for the second year in a row.
Between November 13th and 19th, proceeds from cookies sold at participating Tim Horton’s locations will go to the organization.
Ehrlo Sport Venture currently oversees five free youth recreational sports leagues and offers an equipment rental program.
The organization’s mission is to provide youth and families with control over and access to recreational sports.
“A portion of the funds would allow us to purchase new equipment for our children,” said coordinator Chase Pelletier.
Funds will also be used to book facilities and other special events for the group.
Last year, nearly $67,000 was raised.
Both Tim Horton’s and Ehrlo Sport Venture hope to match the total again.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of this again … and to be the charity of choice,” said Natalie Huber, CEO and president of the Ranch Ehrlo Society.
The price of cookies is $1.50.
For those who don’t eat sweets, there are ways to still help.
Tim Horton’s offers sponsorships for schools and sports teams. Pelletier says the program provides much-appreciated assistance to the organization.
“It really gives us a chance to grow our leagues, reach more kids and really break barriers away from sports.”
