With a forecast 90 percent chance of rain at Riverhead Raceway Saturday, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour officials and Riverhead Raceway management jointly decided to move the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 to Sunday afternoon.
The race day schedule has been brought forward for the wet date, with the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 making the green at 2:45 p.m. ET.
The full race schedule for Saturday carries over to Sunday, with the Blunderbusts, INEX Legend Race Cars, Street Stocks and Eddie Partridge Vintage All-Stars complementing the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200.
“It’s NASCAR’s goal, Jimmy Wilson of WMT and Riverhead Raceway, to get the Buzz Chew Chevrolet 200 finished earlier in the day. This gives race teams and fans who have traveled to us ample time to get home at a reasonable time,” said John Ellwood, track general manager.
