Jose Mourinho has won a fifth major trophy with As Roma last night as they lifted the Europa conference trophy. World-class Mourinho delivers yet again
This was the 26th trophy that Mourinho has won which is an incredible record to have as a manager and why he is one of the best managers in world football. Mourinho has not long been at As Roma, and he has quickly turned them into one of the most exciting teams in European football.
Mourinho has brought As Roma back to life with the club not having the best of results before he was appointed as the new manager. Players like Tammy Abraham have come into the squad and have helped to improve the side by quite a lot with Tammy being the first Englishman in the Italian league to reach a record scoring goals period with the striker scoring over 27 goals.
Mourinho has vowed to stay at As Roma next season and has promised to try and build a strong and competitive team that can compete for the Seria A title next season. Mourinho will be looking to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window that is due to open in a few weeks.
The Roma team did not make the final come easy as they only won the game 1-0 with Feyenoord not performing that well on the night which allowed Roma to eventually get a goal which led them to lift the trophy. It is great to see Roma back to winning ways after the club has had some rough patches in the past few seasons and Mourinho has come in and turned them into a winning side once again. It will be interesting to see where Roma finishes in the league next season as they will be pushing for the title or to be at least top four to ensure that they qualify for the champions league the following season.
We can expect to see Mourinho staying at Roma for a few more years with him seeming to be loving life in Italy and working with the players he has right now.
