Two Week 17 matchups with potential playoff implications, including the latest chapter of one of the NFL’s most bitter rivalries, have been postponed, the league announced Sunday.
A battle of the AFC North enemies against the guest Steeler against that ravens was moved to the 8:20 p.m. ET primetime slot of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Sunday. The contest will be replaced by the originally scheduled SNF matchup between the Rams (4-10) and the Chargers, which now begins at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
The Ravens (10-5) are the only of the four teams to secure a playoff berth after securing a wild card spot with a 17-9 home win over the Falcons on Saturday. Baltimore has won three of their last four, including a 16-14 win in Week 14 over Pittsburgh, although they lost Lamar Jackson (knee) early in a Week 13 win over Denver.
The Steelers (7-8) and Chargers (8-6) both remain in the playoff race for the final two weeks of the season, although the margin of error will be small for both clubs. Pittsburgh are keeping their hopes alive with a 13-10 comeback win over Las Vegas on Saturday night, while LA – currently No. 6 in the AFC – can earn a playoff spot with a win on Monday night.
Thanks to losses to the Raiders and Jets, the Chargers will determine their own destiny as they head out to face the Colts (4-9) on Monday Night Football.
