GAA
County football and hurling finals will be played across the country today as the first round of the Leinster Football Championship continues.
In the Dublin Senior Hurling Final, Kilmacud Crokes leads Na Fianna 10-0 to 9-0 at halftime. A win for the Stillorgan Club would see them make the double for the second year in a row.

In throw-ins at 2.30pm at the Leinster Football Championship, Wexford’s Castletown led 7-0 4-0 against Laois-based Portarlington at the break at Wexford Park, while Louth’s Ardee St Mary’s were 2-4 2-1 against Colmcille led by Longford.
In Kerry, Kerins O’Rahilly takes on Templenoe in the County Football final at Fitzgerald Stadium while Clares Ballyea and Éire Óg take on the Banner’s Hurling final at Cusack Park, both of which started at 3pm.
Later, Kiladangan and Kilruane MacDonaghs meet at Semple Stadium from 4.30pm.
Soccer
Four Premier League games kicked off at 2pm.
At St Mary’s, Arsenal put Southampton just before the 50th minute thanks to a Granit Xhaka goal in the 11th minute.
Elsewhere, Leicester lead Wolves 2-0, Aston Villa lead 3-0 at home to Brentford and between Leeds and Fulham it’s all clear at a goal apiece.
Later, in the main game of the day, Newcastle will take on Tottenham from 4.30pm. A win for the visitors would put them fourth, while three points for Spurs would level them with second-placed Manchester City.

Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe featured in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Women’s Super League (WSL), with goals from Lia Walti and Frida Maanum.
An early goal for West Ham put them ahead of Reading in the 3pm kick-off, with Leicester meeting Manchester United in the second.
Later, in the last game of the day, Brighton host champions Chelsea from 18.45.

Rory McIlroy is the man to pick before the final round of the CJ Cup.
The reigning champion shot a third round of 67 at four under par last night in South Carolina.

That leaves him 13-under overall, solo leader on the leaderboard and a shot ahead of the chasing pack.
Shane Lowry is in 14th place with 7-under par, while Seamus Power is behind with 3-under.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz took pole position for the United States Grand Prix after beating teammate Charles Leclerc into first place by 0.065 seconds.
Leclerc is demoted 10 places after an engine penalty, pushing World Champion Max Verstappen to the front row for Sunday’s race at the Circuit of the Americas.
Sergio Perez qualified fourth in the other Red Bull but falls back to ninth by exceeding the number of engine parts allotted.
The race starts at 8pm Irish time.

Ireland’s cricketers were clearly beaten by Sri Lanka on Sunday morning in the T20 World Cup.
They lost by nine wickets in Hobart, with Sri Lanka sealing the win with 30 balls remaining.
Next up for Ireland on Wednesday is England.

Padraig McCrory from Belfast was crowned IBO light heavyweight champion of the world last night in Frankfurt.
That was after a knockout in the sixth round against Germany’s Leon Bunn.
In doing so, he extended his professional record to a perfect 15-0.
