Forward Anthony Martial scored one goal in 12 loan games for Sevilla last season
TEAM NEWS
Manchester United may welcome Anthony Martial back in training after suffering a hamstring injury.
Victor Lindelof remains unavailable, as is young winger Facundo Pellistri with an ankle injury.
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been handed a three-game ban for his headbutt in last Monday night’s tie against Crystal Palace.
The Reds are bolstered by the return of Roberto Firmino but Thiago, Diogo Jota and Joel Matip remain out.
CHRIS SUTTON’S PREDICTION
If Manchester United wins this game they will skip Liverpool in the table but that’s not going to happen.
United are incapable of putting too much pressure on teams with the players they have and I don’t really know what Erik ten Hag can change with what he has in his squad.
Liverpool have also started slowly and Darwin Nunez’s suspension on top of her injuries won’t help. That leaves them a little short up front, although Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz looked lively against Palace.
Whatever happens, all you know is that Jurgen Klopp’s side will at least surpass United.
Perhaps United’s players will run around a little more this week than they did against Brentford, but they need to find some heart. Unless something happens this week that triggers a change in attitude in the roster, I don’t see it happening.
The home crowd will be ready to bring the game to Liverpool and if they do that they’ll be in big trouble because that’s when Klopp’s side are at their best.
They won 5-0 at Old Trafford last season and it will be a similar story this time, although I will give United a goal just to lift their spirits a bit.
Forecast: 1-5
