Lucknow Super Giants players will have their mother’s name on their jersey against KKR tonight for Mother’s Day
Lucknow Super Giants, one of the two new franchises in the IPL 2022, will wear a special kit against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday.
LSG players will have their mothers’ names on the back of their shirts as Mother’s Day approaches on May 8, Sunday.

Special jerseys are part of the IPL
Different IPL franchises have used specific jerseys for different occasions. Recently, the Rajasthan Royals wore a special kit to pay tribute to their former captain, Shane Warne.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will also wear a special kit for Sunday’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they have done since 2011. They wear a special green jersey to spread the message of a greener planet. Last year, they wore a blue jersey with PPT kits as they paid tribute to frontline healthcare workers.
The Delhi Capitals also recently wore a special kit in their game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They have done this for the last 3 seasons.

Regarding the mothers’ names on the back of the shirt, the Indian men’s cricket team wore a special shirt in a match against New Zealand in 2016. It was the last ODI of the series where both teams tied 2-2 in the last game. India scored 269 in the first innings, sacking NZ for fourth-lowest total ODIs.
Amit Mishra’s 5-wicket haul helped India win the match by 190 runs.
This was the first time in the history of the sport that players took to the field with their mothers’ names on the back of their shirts.
