Korda says Maguire is 'such a tough competitor'
Ireland's Leona Maguire will face world number one Nelly Korda in the final of the LPGA's T-Mobile Match Play event after both advanced to the decider.
Korda, hoping for a fourth straight tournament victory, defeated fellow American Angel Yin 3&2 in the final eight rounds before defeating South Korea's Na-Rin An 4&3.
Maguire defeated Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn 4&3 and Korea's Sei-Young Kim 3&2 in their Saturday matches in Las Vegas.
“I love this golf course,” the Irishwoman said of the Shadow Creek venue.
“I always say it’s one of my favorite concerts we play all year.
“It is a challenge. You just have to accept it for what it is, take every shot and just try to make it happen.”

Maguire helped Europe win the last two Solheim Cups
Showcasing her match play experience in Europe's last two Solheim Cup triumphs, Maguire revealed she met her European teammates for dinner in Las Vegas on the eve of this week's event.
“It was great meeting everyone,” the world number 30 added.
“At the end of the day, I love match play. I like the competitive nature of it.”
“Korda is currently the best in the world”
Korda entered this week's hybrid strokeplay/matchplay tournament in top form, having recently won the Drive On Championship, the Los Angeles Open and the Arizona Championship.
However, the 25-year-old American expects the toughest challenges from the fiercely competitive Irishwoman.
“Just so consistent. Such a tough competitor,” Korda said of Maguire.
“We definitely played a few duels at the Solheim Cups. But I think it’s just going to be difficult tomorrow.”
Maguire says there is no doubt Korda is “the best in the world at the moment”.
“I have a big challenge ahead of me. I’m excited,” she added.
“I mean, that’s why you train. You want to play against the best players in the world, and that’s Nelly.”
Maguire has already secured two LPGA victories, having secured her first triumph at the Drive On Championship in 2022 before securing victory at the Meijer Classic last season.
