Teenage winger Stuart McKinstry has returned to Motherwell for a season from Leeds.
The 19-year-old graduated from Motherwell Academy where he worked with current first-team manager Steven Hammell before joining the Yorkshire club in 2019.
McKinstry was a regular for Leeds Under-23s and was benched ten times for the Premier League first-team last season.
The young Scot was allowed to leave Elland Road for playing time at first-team level and Hammell – who was made well manager last week – is delighted at the chance to have the attacker available this season.
“I’ve worked with Stuart before and I know exactly what he’s capable of,” Hammell told the Motherwell website.
“He has developed over his time in the South and the experience of being in and around the first team has been an advantage for him.
“He is an excellent addition to the squad and I look forward to seeing what he produces this season.”
