Ipswich Town 1-1 Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood clinched a dramatic 1-1 League One draw with Ipswich in the sixth minute of second-half added time when substitute Cain Hayes’ shot deflected badly, hitting the post and landing in the net.

The Tractor Boys had chances to extend their lead after Luke Woolfenden’s opening goal in the second minute, but didn’t take them.

The Ipswich defender was there at the far post to slot the ball past Fleetwood goalkeeper Jay Lynch from a Leif Davis corner.

Conor Chaplin’s shot was blocked by Lynch, only Kyle Edwards’ shot was saved by the shot stopper and the Fleetwood keeper tipped a dramatic Freddie Ladapo volley over the bar.

Christian Walton came to the rescue of Ipswich as he bravely went down at the feet of Ged Garner.

Lynch then saved a Chaplin shot on goal while Cameron Humphreys and Kayden Jackson had chances to extend the home side’s lead.

Joe Garner nearly equalized for Fleetwood when his header defeated Walton, only for Davis to acrobaticly clear the ball off the line, but Hayes’ stoppage-time shot was deflected off Cameron Burgess and ended up in the net.

There was still time for late drama as the visitors were reduced to 10 men on death when Josh Earl was shown a straight red card.
