Sweden beat co-hosts Australia to finish third at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 (on FOX and the FOX Sports app) at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
With a goal in each half, Sweden thrived with their relentless attacking pressure and clean chances. Australia fought hard and were supported by a roaring home crowd but failed to score in the end and Sweden secured third place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023

In first-half extra time, Musovic saved Sam Kerr’s rocket with a brilliant save to put Sweden ahead at half-time.

Sweden were awarded a penalty after a foul in the penalty area against Australia and Rolfo capitalized on the game with a brilliant finish to put her side 1-0 up.

Fridolina Rolfo headed in a cross, but the ball bounced off the crossbar in a heartbreaking manner.

Despite heavy pressure from Sweden early in the game, the Australian attack found footing and created chances in the final third of the pitch.

Sweden put the pressure on from the start, driving into the penalty area several times in the first few minutes, but Australian goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold mastered the attacks with ease.
