Burton Albion 0-2 Portsmouth – ` Sport

Portsmouth went on to have six straight League One wins thanks to a Sam Hughes own goal and a late Colby Bishop strike that sealed a 2-0 win over Burton.

Hughes was unlucky when Marlon Pack’s low cross swept past his own keeper just before the hour mark and Bishop sealed the points with a fine finish from Owen Dale’s cross from the right four minutes from time.

The loss ensured Dino Maamria began his tenure at Burton with a loss following the retirement of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Portsmouth made their way at a blistering pace to extend their winning streak and keep the pressure on pacesetter Ipswich.

Ronan Curtis saw his header clawed away from close range by returning Albion goalkeeper Ben Garratt before Tottenham loanee Dane Scarlett hissed a low shot just wide.

Dale also saw a curl attempt deflected off target as Pompey attempted to pay off her pressure, but Albion’s defense refused to budge.

Substitute Sam Winnall came closest to Albion, heading just over the goal from a long throw from Tom Hamer.
