We asked your opinion on what Brighton need to do by the end of the January transfer window.
Here are some of your comments:
John: Brighton do not have to and will not sell top players in the January window. Supporters of so-called big clubs (Chelsea in particular) believe they can pick and choose who they want from little ol’ Brighton, but that’s a level of aspiration that doesn’t reflect reality. No signings are required and none at Chelsea are good enough to interest Brighton anyway.
Daniel: Brighton need to hold on to their players. Their impressive first half of the season has seen the Vultures keep circling. Poorly managed and wealthier clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool will try to emulate Brighton’s success by benching the likes of Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma. But maybe we can benefit from Leandro Trossard.
Toby: What is needed at Brighton is Leandro Trossard from the club and Levi Colwill to sign permanently. Leandro was a great player for us but it’s unfortunate how it turned out and he has to go now. Hopefully the money we raise from this sale can be used towards the permanent purchase of Colwill – he’s a centre-back’s Rolls-Royce.
James: Brighton have had an incredible start to the season. To move on, let’s look at West Ham’s Maxwel Cornet who doesn’t get a game, Liverpool’s Naby Keita or even Conor Gallagher going down the Chelsea pecking order.
Josh: The only thing Brighton has to do is get rid of Trossard! We don’t need an ego in our team. And in Ferguson we finally found a striker!
